Sellers should consider adding these requirements into their contract until the NEW Florida Mold Law is enforced by the DBPR. American Indoor Air Quality CouncilTM Certified Indoor
EnvironmentalistTM
(CIE) or a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) must perform the mold inspection and testing on buyers’
behalf. The mold inspection & report must include all the following: · Source identification of mold and moisture; with documentation of all suspect conditions. (new law, 2010)* Mold Inspector must have General Liability and Errors & Omissions Insurance in the amount of not less than $1 million. (new law, 2010)
Nationally accepted industry standards
· Interpretation of mold sampling analysis by the inspector, not the
lab.
· Sampling collections must follow published testing standards. (IESO)
· Written recommendations for corrections; must follow IICRC S520 remediation
standards.
