"The
Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) was established in 1995 to promote uniform standards, procedures and protocols
in the Indoor Air Quality industry. In 2005 IAQA's membership was consolidated with two very similar organizations:
The American Indoor Air Quality Council (AmIAQ) and the Indoor Environmental Standards Organization (IESO). IAQA emerged from
the consolidation with 5,566 members as of January 1, 2006."

"The American Indoor Air Quality Council promotes awareness,
education, and certification in the field of Indoor Air Quality through integrity, credibility, and independence. Our mission: To establish credible certifications that provide lasting value to professionals, their clients, and the public.
Our goal: To serve the public interest with integrity as
an independent certifying body."
This group provides training and certifications from a National
certification board for mold and indoor air quality professionals.
Note: AIAQC certified Residential Mold Inspector must
have 2 years experience as an inspector to apply for testing and certification.

As the indoor air quality (IAQ) industry continues to evolve,
businesses that are responsible for managing IAQ issues are adapting to meet the demands of the industry. The
Indoor Environmental Standards Organization (IESO) was established in 2002 to assist these businesses.
With
headquarters in Rockville, MD, IESO is a non-profit organization that provides a national forum for the development and publication
of voluntary consensus standards for the assessment of indoor environments. Its mission is to be the foremost developer and
provider of voluntary consensus indoor environmental quality standards, related technical information, and services having
recognized quality and applicability that promote public health and safety, and the overall quality of life.
Note: IESO
has published standards on:
How to Test
When
to Test
Where to Test

"Environmental Solutions
Association (ESA) is the nation's premier, membership-based
training organization formed exclusively to provide industry professionals with the training and education necessary to confront
the environmental and safety issues faced by property owners, inspectors, remediation experts, and all other related industry
personnel."
Testing standards are important, examples listed below:
IESO standards says the outdoor air sample should be taken at least 10 feet from the structure.
|
ESA standards say that the outdoor air sample should be taken at least 5 feet from the structure.
|
|
This does not mean on the porch, launi, or in the garage.
|

"The Environmental
Assessment Association (EAA) is an international organization dedicated to providing members with information and education
in the Environmental Industry relaying to Environmental Inspections, Testing and other areas. EAA represents over 5,000 Environmental
Professionals who provide services to a wide variety of clients including lenders, federal and state agencies, private companies
and many others".
EAA is one of the oldest Environmental Associations and for years has provide environmental professionals with valuable
"new" information in an ever changing business.
